Tea Bowl

A small tea bowl without a handle, with rounded sides that curve in slightly toward the rim. The white glaze sits over grey stoneware, thinning in places so soft grey and oatmeal tones show through, with faint throwing lines and small dark specks across the surface. The rim is left a darker brown where the glaze breaks thin, and a narrow unglazed foot shows the clay underneath.

It holds 6 oz, a comfortable amount for green tea, matcha or a short pour of something warm, and sits easily in two hands. The quiet surface also suits it as a small serving bowl for nuts or sweets.
